Liverpool and Everton are set to go head-to-head in the transfer market this summer as both eye Molde stopper Orjan Nyland
The 24-year-old was previously a target for another Premier League giant, Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger’s side ultimately opted against signing the player last summer.
After another season in Norway, there remains interest from Britain, with fierce rivals Liverpool and Everton, as well as Scottish heavyweights Celtic all considering a move for the stopper this summer.
Toffees scout Bryan King was present on Wednesday as Molde beat Stromgodset.
Molde director Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen acknowledged the transfer interest via Aftenbladet, intimating that there are other sides beyond the trio who are keen on the forward.
Hull City, Sunderland, Southampton and Bolton Wanderers are also believed to be keen on the keeper, with competition provided by German quartet Nuremberg, Mainz, Kaiserslautern and Freiburg.
Swiss side Basel and Belgians Club Brugge are also in the running.
Finally, Dutch side AZ Alkmaar may well look to move for the guardsman.
“There are many clubs present at most games we play now,” said Jacobsen.
“At the moment, the clubs themselves do not want to indicate that they are in Molde, so we respect it. But it was more than ten clubs in attendance on Wednesday.”
